Local scrap metal thieves!

Just under £8,000 worth of metal has been stolen from the Halstead area.
Police are asking the residents and tradesmen to keep the eyes peeled and their ears open following the yet another theft of metal, which amounts to £7,800 since January this year.
Crime Reduction Advisor for the Braintree district Stephen Armson-Smith said: “Members of the public are asked to be vigilant and to telephone police immediately if they see any unusual or suspicious behaviour, especially around derelict or empty buildings, or trade vehicles.
“Often metal thieves will use a van or car to transport metal away from the scene of the crime, so I would ask members of the public to record index numbers and the make of any suspicious vehicle and report this to police.”
